Lesotho becomes the 139th subscribing state to the HCoC

14 December 2017

On 14 December 2017, the Kingdom of Lesotho has become the 139th subscribing state to the Hague Code of Conduct against the proliferation of ballistic missiles. The total number of African states that have subscribed to the HCoC now stands at 38.

The spokesperson for the European External Action Service stated:

This is an important step towards the universalisation and effective implementation of the Code. We expect all States which have not yet subscribed to the Code of Conduct, in particular those possessing ballistic missile capabilities and space launch vehicles, to follow this example.
