Awareness-building session on HCoC in Paris

On 9 September 2013, the FRS organised, on behalf of the European Union, an awareness-building session in Paris about dual-use technology and knowledge transfer issues in order to prevent them in the field of ballistic missiles. The session allowed considering both trends in the technology transfer for ballistic missiles and what could be promoted to prevent it at an early stage. This workshop gathered experts from scientific, space and industry communities of HCoC subscribing and non-subscribing States.

Vienna outreach side event on HCoC

On 31 May 2013, the FRS organised, on behalf of the European Union, an outreach event in support of both the HCoC and ballistic missile non-proliferation. This meeting took place at the Vienna International Centre in the margins of the HCoC annual meeting of subscribing states.

10 years of the HCoC

On 15 January 2013, the FRS organised an international seminar at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna to mark the 10th anniversary of the Code. The meeting, which gathered 100 participants, raised HCoC’s international profile, highlighted the successes of the Code to date, and promoted debate on how the Code can tackle the challenges facing it in the future.

Visit of Europe’s spaceport in Kourou

On 18-21 May 2011, as part of the European Union’s decision to support HCoC, the FRS organised a visit to Europe’s spaceport in Kourou (French Guiana), in close cooperation with the European Space Agency, the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES), Arianespace, the Soyouz programme, the French Chairmanship of the HCoC and the French authorities in French Guiana.
