On 19 April 2019, the Togolese Republic has become the 140th subscribing state to the Hague Code of Conduct against the proliferation of ballistic missiles. The total number of African states that have subscribed to the HCoC now stands at 39.
On 5 December 2018, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted resolution A/RES/73/49 in support of the HCoC, with 171 votes in favour, 1 vote against and 12 abstentions. This text was adopted with the highest number of votes in favour since the first such resolution, in 2004.
On 14 December 2017, the Kingdom of Lesotho has become the 139th subscribing state to the Hague Code of Conduct against the proliferation of ballistic missiles. The total number of African states that have subscribed to the HCoC now stands at 38.
On 18 December 2017, the Council of the European Union adopted Decision (CFSP) 2017/2370 in support of the Hague Code of Conduct and ballistic missile non-proliferation in the framework of the implementation of the EU Strategy against Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction.
