RC SFPA (Slovakia)
Research Center of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (RC SFPA) was established by the transformation of the Slovak Institute for International Studies, a former allowance-receiving organization of the MFA SR, as a non-profit organization providing generally beneficial services in the field of international relations and foreign policy of the Slovak Republic.
In accordance with its status, the RC SFPA provides:
- independent expert analyses on crucial issues of international relations and foreign policy of the Slovak Republic;
- publishes periodical and non-periodical expert publications serving to increase awareness in the field of international relations and foreign policy of the Slovak Republic and as a source of qualified information for both, the expert and general public;
- organizes expert events and participates in international scientific cooperation in the field of international relations and security;
- contributes to the fostering of the expert discourse on international relations and foreign policy of the Slovak Republic;
- creates a favorable environment for the growth of the new generation of the Slovak experts in the field of international relations; and
- stimulates the interest of wider Slovak public in the global events as well as a deeper understanding of the significance of foreign policy and its link to the domestic policy.

Alexander Duleba is Director of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association and Head of the Eastern Europe Program. Mr Duleba graduated from Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev in 1989 and was awarded a C.Sc. by the Department of Political Science at the Slovak Academy of Sciences in 1998. He received his Doctor Habilitatus from Comenius University in Bratislava in 2009. He has been with SFPA since 1995, and his research interests include Slovak foreign policy, the domestic and foreign policies of countries of the former USSR (mainly Russia and Ukraine), the European Neighbourhood Policy, and the energy policies of Slovakia, the V4 and the EU. |

Dušan Fischer is a Marshall Center Alumni Scholar affiliated with the International Security Department at the Research Center of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association, a think tank based in Bratislava, Slovakia. Dušan is currently working as an analyst at the Lessons Learned Management Division of the NATO Joint Analysis Lessons Learned Center in Lisbon, Portugal. Among his research areas are European security and defense cooperation, NATO assurance and deterrence measures, U.S. foreign, security, and defense policy. He graduated from American Studies at the Heidelberg University and from the Program on Applied Security Studies at George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Previously, Dušan worked at the NATO Headquarters Supreme Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia. He lectures on the topics of American studies, European and transatlantic security. As one of the most cited analysts Dušan is frequently sought out to provide commentary on the issues of contemporary America, NATO, and European security to Slovak and foreign media. |

| Samuel Goda Researcher – Future of Security and Cooperation in Europe Program [email protected] |
Samuel Goda works as researcher and project manager at the Slovak Foreign Policy Association, dealing mostly with OSCE-related issues, international security and development aid activities in Eastern Europe. His main research areas include OSCE related issues, conflict cycle, conflict transformation and reconciliation, EU CFSP/CSDP, as well as a regional scope of Central and Eastern Europe and Latin America. In addition Samuel works Assistant Professor and Vice-Dean for Development at the Faculty of International Relations, University of Economics in Bratislava, where he also teaches several courses on international relations. Dr Goda is also a representative at the “OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions.” Samuel studied and conducted research stays in the Republic of Moldova, Czech republic, Austria, Ukraine, Germany and U.S. As of 2018, under the Italian OSCE Chairmanship, Samuel became the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Youth and Security. |

Ivo Samson, PhD, graduated from history at the University of Brno (Czech Republic) and received his PhD in security studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. At the Research Centre of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association he has been working as head of the International Security Programme. |

Tomas Strazay, PhD, graduated from political Science at the Comenius University, Slovakia. He received his PhD from the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.
